Broccoli

Tonight at dinner Easton wasn't eating his broccoli so I reminded him that if he ate it he would grow big like his Dad. A few minutes later I looked over at him and he says mom, I am not big yet. Apparently he thought it would be instant growth.

Isn't She Cute?

I have a question?!?

I caught it on camera

So I sort of caught Gretchen rolling over on camera. She now rolls over when you put her on her stomach unless she is tired then she just falls asleep.

Merry Christmas!!

This morning Chad and I decided to wake the kids up at 7am we just couldn't handle waiting anymore. I have to tell you I am still like a little kid and didn't sleep much last night. There is just something so exciting about Christmas morning. Anyway Easton loved it he got to open up his presents and Gretchen's. Gretchen got a walker and thought that was pretty cool. She likes to be sitting up. Easton got all kinds of fun toys. I think his favorite is the Air Compressor and Nail gun. He thinks he is building stuff. He actually might pick one of Gretchen's toys to be his favorite. For a little while he wouldn't play with his he just wanted to play with her toys. Chad got a Rockband for the XBOX and he is really enjoying it. I have to admit it is pretty fun. I got a new coat. It was a really good Christmas. Here are a few pictures of our day. I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!!!

Isn't this the cutest picture!

This is Marshal and Chad. They started a band called the Dudes!

Easton believes in safety first apparently. He made sure he put his goggles on when ever he was playing with any of his new tools.

Hand Me Downs

Gretchen has been lucky enough to receive lots of cute hand me downs. Thanks Lara and Andrea. Today Gretchen and Kendall were able to match so of course we had to take a few pictures. I didn't get to many good ones. I still think they are cute.

This picture is sort of a weird face but my camera is to slow to catch the smile, but if you look close you can see her two bottom teeth.

This is for you Ike

Today while going to Target Easton saw the handicapped parking and said, "Hey that is a wheelchair like uncle Ike." He then told me that Uncle Ike was going to meet us at Target in 15 minutes. He was a little sad when I informed him that wouldn't be happening. He then went off about Carson getting hurt on the motorcycle. So Ike this post is for you and to let you know that a little boy misses you and wants you to come visit. (This is the only picture I could find of Ike at the moment. It is pretty old but hey posts are more fun with pictures don't you think?)

Family Christmas Party

We had our family Christmas party yesterday with Chad's family. We ate and then Santa came. Easton was very excited to see him come in and couldn't wait to sit on his lap. He told Santa that he wanted him to bring lots of toys. Hopefully he will remember to receive the lots of toys you need to be good. Santa told him to remember to leave out cookies and milk and Easton wants to make the cookies now. He just can't wait. Here are a few pictures from the party.
Gretchen with Aunt Nancy

Easton really enjoyed the fruit punch so that is what is all over his face.

This is the best picture of Gretchen and Santa I could get. (Sorry it is a little blurry)

This is a picture of most of the younger nieces and nephews

Peterson Christmas Party

Growing up I always looked forward to the Peterson Christmas Party for several reasons. I loved that I got to see my cousins from Idaho, I got to see Santa and we usually got presents. It was like a kick off to the whole Christmas season for me as a kid. Now as an adult I have been looking forward to it all over again. Now it is for different reasons. I still really enjoy seeing my cousins, but the thing that I love the most now is that being with my moms siblings it makes me remember her and feel closer to her. I love that feeling and am so glad we were able to attend the party this year. Easton loves to play with all the kids.

This is Noelle & Gretchen if you look close you see Noelle's missing tooth and can see Gretchen's two new teeth.

Easton was one of the wise men and he was pretty tired and kind of ornery so he wouldn't smile for the picture.

I thought I took more pictures than I did this is pretty much all I got that was cute.

Finally

After 2 weeks I finally saw Gretchen roll over. I knew she was rolling over but she only ever rolled at night. This morning she decided to roll when I could see her. I took this dang cute picture of her today but I used my phone and have no idea how to get that on the computer. I am going to try get some of her and her teeth, so watch for those.

Just a few Pictures

The Lights At Temple Square

This past weekend our friends came from Idaho to go see the lights at temple square. It was really snowing Friday night but we decided to go anyway. It was way pretty with the snow and the lights. Easton really likes playing with his friend Tyler and was sad that they had to go home.

This isn't the cutest picture but it is the only one I had of Gretchen. She was all bundled up and in her car seat and then in the stroller with a blanket over it and sleeping so she didn't even see the pretty lights.

This is Tyler and Easton

This was when we first got there. The Big Nativity is behind them but of course you can't see that.

Growing Up

Gretchen had her four month check up today. She is in the 25th percentile for height and weight, but still growing. While the doctor was checking her he was looking in her mouth and I heard him say I see you got some teeth. I thought that was a little weird. So when he left I looked in her mouth and she has two bottom teeth. It explains a lot. She hasn't been ornery or anything but last week she had a runny nose and didn't sleep the best.

Building a House

Easton got a Gingerbread House kit from his Grandma a few weeks ago and Easton has wanted to Eat the candy ever since. Last night I decided to attempt making a house. I have never made a real gingerbread house only the ones from graham crackers in elementary. Easton was really good he just sat there and waited until he could start decorating. Gretchen sat in her high chair and watched for a little while. I got a little frustrated with the frosting so next time I have a better plan. Easton thought it was really fun. Maybe we have a new tradition, will see.
This is Easton putting the candy on.

This is Gretchen watching Easton and Mom.

This is the finished project. Easton was saying Cheese!

Once there was a snowman

Easton and I decided to build a snowman today. I have to admit it was my first time really building one and apparently the snow wasn't the best for snowman making. Anyway Easton had a good time in the snow. Today the snow is melting and so is his snowman so he sang the song for me. He hopes it snows again so he can build another bigger one with his dad.

Here is Easton with out tiny snowman!

This is Easton doing a snow angel!

This is our snowman a few hours after we went inside Chad added the buttons and mouth so it looked a lot better.

High Chair

Tonight Gretchen sat in the high chair for the first time. She thought it was pretty exciting. She likes to sit up so this may be a place she sits a lot. She also had applesauce for the first time. I don't know how much she liked that. She ate it but made some funny faces.

3. I am so thankful for my testimony of the gospel. I do not know what I would do without it. I know it is true and hope that I can help my children learn about it.

Cute Picture

This weekend Grandma was holding Gretchen and Easton got a little Jealous. He got up on her lap also and grabbed Gretchen's hand. It was super cute. He sure loves his little sister. I am not the best with a camera so I didn't get them holding hands like I intended. It is still a good picture of the three of them.

Decorating the Tree

Easton was so happy when his dad got out the Christmas tree. He really wanted to help. I let him help with a few of the lower ornaments. While I was finishing decorating the tree he got his stool and came and just stood and looked at the tree. It was cute! He is really excited about Christmas Now that the tree and decorations are up. I am excited this year. He was fun to watch last year but this year he is going to really get it I think. I love Christmas and love when I finally get to put up my Christmas Decorations.

It's time to let it go

So I know to many of you this is going to be a very lame post but hey it is my blog. I loved Teddy Ruxpin as a little Girl. I was so excited when I got him and in fact my mom had to replace him twice after my brothers took him and broke him. Anyway he was one of my favorite toys. Last week while doing a little cleaning I decided it was time to give him up. He actually got broken so it wasn't that big of a deal but I have found that lately I have a very hard time giving certain things up. So I took some pictures and then I put him in the Garbage.

Monday's List

1. Being able to talk to Chad on the phone while he is out of town.
2. Reading books to my kids.
3. Carson and Ike are football Champions. (Ike doesn't have a blog and he mentioned this so I thought I should be thankful for that too.)

Turkey Hands

On Wednesday afternoon Easton wanted to do something fun. We decided to make turkeys. He likes to color so I thought making turkeys together would be a fun activity since I like to color also.

Easton probably made 5 or 6 but this was his favorite.

Gretchen woke up from her nap while we were doing it and Easton thought she needed to make one and I thought it was so cute I had to share it.

We had a fun Thanksgiving we ate at Andrea and Chucks, along with Kyles family, Chads family, and one of Andrea's neighbors family. It was fun and very delicious. The turkey was my favorite very moist. Then of course Friday morning I went shopping with Andrea. This year I actually started at a different store by myself then met up with Andrea. Friday afternoon we went to Idaho to Chad's parents. We had turkey sandwiches with most of his siblings that night. Then on Saturday we had another Thanksgiving dinner with Chads moms family. It was fun I think I am pretty much turkeyed out though. It was a good Thanksgiving.

Does it count?

To start out Gretchen is a tummy sleeper. This morning when Chad went to get her out of bed she was on her back. So she rolled over but is that the date we right down because we didn't see it occur? I think it counts even though it could have been a complete accident on her part.

Just a cute picture!

So I took this picture this last weekend. Gretchen fell asleep on her dad while watching a movie.

Gretchens Stocking

Today I was able to go to my Aunt Fran's and she helped me finish Gretchen's sock. I started it 2 and a half years ago before Gretchen was even a thought. While making Easton's my mom told me I should cut out two so when I have my next baby that much will be done. I am glad I listened to my mother. I think it is cool that I can tell Gretchen that her grandma helped make her sock. Here is a picture of the finished product.

Wednesdays 3 items are:

1. My Aunt Fran. She helped me finish Gretchen's sock.
2. Being able to have a little alone time from my kid today. Thanks Chad.

Are We There Yet?

Yesterday while driving to Idaho I heard something that I didn't think I would hear from one of my kids for awhile. Easton fell asleep shortly after we began our drive. He woke up 20 minutes later and thought he saw his grandmas house. When we told him we had a while to go he was a little disappointed. He continued to ask "Are we there yet?" about 20 times. What a kid he sure loves going to his grandma and grandpas and was glad we finally got here.

1. My Own bed. After sleeping in a different bed it makes me really enjoy my own.

Count Your Blessings

I am stealing this from one of my cousins blogs. I just really thought it was a really cool idea. Each day of November you write a blog post of 3 "things" you are grateful for.

Definition of “things”- the term “things” is used here to encompass a myriad of stuff including, but not limited to: a certain set of circumstances, an event, an inanimate object distinguished from a living being, possessions or effects, a deed or act, a product of work or activity, an idea or notion, a piece of news or information, a person, a memory, anything that makes you smile.

* The challenge is to come up with three ORIGINAL “things” each day. Try not to repeat entries.
* Your post should be sent by midnight each night. If you miss a day or two, no biggie, but you have to make it up, no skipping!

Please feel free to join in! Since it is the 7th I am doing a list of 21 today!

1. Easton waking up at 7:15(I got extra sleep)
2. Gretchen's beautiful smile!
3. Chad making dinner last night.
4. My contacts so that I can see.
5. Christmas Music on the radio.
6. My blog, I am addicted and it is a nice way to have a written account of some of my families daily activities.
7. Family Home Evening. Well actually Easton's excitement for family home evening. Who knew he would get so excited about it.
8. Cuddling with Gretchen and Easton in a nice warm blanket when I woke up freezing cold this morning.
9. Glazed Donuts(I love them and I can smell Krispie Kremes this morning.)
10. Helping Andrea make pies yesterday, I am not the best cook or baker but it was seeing the finished product.
11. Sitting around talking and laughing with my family.
12. Big anaconda squeezes from Easton.
13. My camera, I love to take pictures.
14. Pajamas, who doesn't love a nice pair of pajamas.
15. Hugs from chad for no reason at all.
16. Dishwashers, I am not a fan of dishes by hand.
17. My Mom and Dad.
18. The Internet I have been doing a lot of Christmas shopping or looking it is exciting.
19. The color yellow, it is my favorite and it is just so bright and fun.
20. A place to live.
21. Football, it is so fun to watch.

Look for 3 more things tomorrow.

Laundry Day!!!

Today I had a helper with me while putting the laundry away. Easton usually always helps by putting his clothes away and when he came back to get more clothes he thought it was funny to see Gretchen in the basket.

Easton was a little jealous and wanted me to take his picture in the basket also.

Daylight Savings

Most people enjoy daylight savings because they gain the extra hour of sleep. Easton is a early riser so instead of waking up at 6am he woke us up at 5am asking for cereal. I learned at church today to count my blessings so I guess I should count him twice because we were all ready for church when chad came to pick us up after his meeting. I am tired and Easton and Gretchen are napping now so I guess that is my cue to go take a nap. Have a wonderful day!!!

Halloween Festivities!!

The night before Halloween Easton and Gretchen watched It's A Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown and I just thought they both looked so cute watching that I had to take some pictures. That movie is sort of a classic to me anyway so I thought that was a fun little activity for them.

This is Gretchen after we went trick or treating, she went in the stroller for a little while but got hungry so I came home and fed her while Easton and Chad kept trick or treating.

Easton is the little scarecrow. The girl in yellow is Charly(she was Belle).

Easton had a good time trick or treating and had fun with his cousins. He did take big handfuls of candy when people would let him pick. It was sort of embarrassing but he is only 2 years old and is allowed to do things like that. I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween!!

Am I A Super Hero?

Today while in the car Easton asked if he could wear his sunglasses so I handed them back to him. A few minutes later he said, "Mom am I a Super Hero?" I thought that was sort of a weird question and before I could answer he said, "maybe I am to little." When I looked back this is how he was sitting. Luckily I had my camera with me and was able to take this picture. Apparently he is a super hero when he has his sunglasses on.

Pumpkin Walk

Tonight we went to a Pumpkin walk. There was over 1000 carved pumpkins all lit up. They were all lined up and it wound around a big field. Easton liked seeing all the pumpkins but of course they were giving out candy along the route and that is what he likes best. There were so many fun pumpkins. I did take a picture of mine and Eastons favorites. I hope you will be able to see them because I thought they were pretty cool. I thought it was pretty fun I had never been to something like that.
