Happy Birthday!

Today would have been my mom's 71st Birthday. Every year I still celebrate her birthday and it is a day that I talk about my mom to my kids.  I talk about her all the time but on her birthday I make her favorite dinner, and a special treat.  My kids never got to know my mom.  I know she wasn't perfect but she was still a wonderful mom.  I miss talking to her and being able to ask her advice.  Today at church we seemed to sing hymns that reminded me of her and her amazing testimony.   

We made cupcakes.  As you can see they loved them.  I love remembering and celebrating my mom with my family.

Family Bike Ride

We went on a family bike ride and Gretchen and Kinslee were in the bike trailer.  I asked Gretchen to take some pictures of everyone.  When we got home and I checked the camera this is what she took. 

We are hoping by the end of the summer to be able to only have Kinslee in the bike trailer.  Gretchen is learning to ride a bike without training wheels.

Reading

A month ago Chad and Easton made a tree house in our backyard.  Easton loves to read.  The other day I looked out my kitchen window and saw Easton sitting on his blanket in the tree house reading.  He told me we didn't have any books, and asked if he could read the Gospel Principles manual.

We have since gone to the library so he could read some other books also.

 Gretchen ran out of money.  She really just wanted to throw all the money in the air. I guess that is why you shouldn't play monopoly with a 4 year old.

Easton loved it though and he won!!

Washing the Van

This summer I decided to make summer Bingo cards with fun activities on them so that at the end of the summer my kids can't say they didn't do anything fun.  I have a card for each month.  If we get a blackout we are going to have a ice cream party.

 Kinslee isn't a big fan of getting wet, but she did enjoy playing in the bucket.

 

I don't think my van is really that clean but they had a good time.  So that works for me I guess. 

Sprinkler Fun!

 Today we were able to run through the sprinklers at our friends house.

As a kid I loved running through the sprinklers.  My kids say they like it but I swear they spend way more time on the towels then in the actual water.   

 I begged Easton to lay down in the water.

Kinslee and Lexie weren't huge fans of the water but they had a good time playing together.

Last Day of School!
