Chores

On Monday we had our family home evening lesson on the importance of work.  Lately my kids complain and whine when I ask them to help me with things around the house.  In the lesson we talked about how sometimes work isn't fun but it is important to have a clean house and to take care of things.  It is also important to learn how to work.  I made this super simple chore jars.  Each morning they have to draw 5 chores and put in there jar.  When they are done with the chore they put the stick back in the chore jar.  So far so good.  We are only two days in.  I think I need to think of a few more chores to add to the jar, so there is more variety.

Do you have any chore ideas for ages 5-7?

So far so good

I had to document that we actually had family home evening. We have had it two weeks in a row. We seem to be in a pretty good routine lets just hope it lasts past January. Our lesson was about being fishers of men.

On another note my in-laws gave us there piano. They brought it to us on Easton's birthday! I don't really know how to play. Chad took lessons when he was younger so he can play a little. The kids love it. Chad even plays for family home evening.
