Halloween 2009

Easton likes the whole carving pumpkins but he isn't a big fan of touching the inside. He said he would clean his out. It took him 2 hours to get it all done.
Gretchen didn't like getting her fingers all yucky but she hurried and did it.

We had lots of pumpkins this year. I bought 2 and then Easton's preschool gave us four.
Chad did the Mummy, and monster thing. Easton's is the other one.

Gretchen's

This is mine.

Getting ready to go trick-or-treating!

Isn't this the cutest thing ever? I think so!

Checking out there loot.

We had a ward party earlier in the week and they both got so much candy that we only went to our little neighborhood. They were both in bed a little after 8pm.

Making Cookies

I really enjoy making sugar cookies. So since we have Halloween cookie cutters then we must make Halloween cookies. Not that we need anymore junk food in this house. I don't know why all my pictures look so crappy. I think I need to take some photography lessons or something.

I really didn't want lots of pumpkins and ghosts calling me to eat them so then we made these little candy corn cookies that I think I might give to the people I visit teach.
The decorating the cookies really is Easton and Gretchen's favorite.

Don't you love how she is licking her fingers.

I know you all want that ghost cookie with a couple tablespoons of sprinkles on it. I wasn't watching her and i looked up and whoa half the bottle on one cookie.

Pumpkin Walk 2009

For the past couple of years we have gone to a pumpkin walk to see lots of Jack-o-lantern's. This year Easton got to carve one of the pumpkins for it. I guess the lady that started his preschool also started the pumpkin walk.
Here Easton is taking all the guts out. He didn't really like doing that at all.
He wanted to do a Batman pumpkin so this is what he got.

Here is his pumpkin all lit up at the Pumpkin walk.
We enjoyed it but it seems there wasn't nearly as many pumpkins as normal.

Random stuff at our house

This post is going to be just a little random but I wanted to get a few of these things down. So I am not so good at doing my own hair so Gretchen usually has only a few different things done. I have never been able to french braid and so I thought I should try do Gretchen's.
This is what I got. I know it doesn't look that good but I had to take a picture because i did it. I was so proud of myself. My family thought I was crazy.

This month I decided I was going to make my family fun weird foods. So Sunday I made these sludge cups.

It is Lime jello on the bottom and grape jello on the top with gummy worms in it and on top. They all seemed to enjoy them. Especially Easton.
Last night for dinner I made these Mummy dogs. They were a hit. I have a few more fun food ideas that I am hoping to make next week.

Happy Birthday Andrea!!!

Today is my sister's 39th Birthday!!! I just wanted to wish her a happy birthday!!! I am not sure what I would do without a sister. My brothers are cool and all but I can't lie I sure love my sister.

Looking through my scrapbooks to find a new picture of the two of us I found two that I really liked. The first one we got all dressed up and then Andrea took me to dinner and then to temple square and we took lots of pictures. I was like 10 or 11. I thought it was so much fun The next one is sort of blurry but it is us looking good at the Grand Canyon.
Andrea Thank you for everything you do for me and my family. You are awesome!

I Love You!!

Happy Birthday!!!!

Hi Ho Cherry-O!

Tonight I attempted to play Hi Ho Cherry-O with Easton and Gretchen. It went pretty well. Gretchen doesn't really get what is going on. I guess we will have to play more often. We tried a couple other games and she didn't do so hot with those so I guess we will just stick with Hi Ho Cherry-O. I did take these cute pictures of Easton trying to teach her how to play.

Easton loves games and I think he wanted her to play in hopes that they both will get to play with the games more often with out me.

Yeah that isn't going to happen yet, I can just picture cherries all over my house and cards and memory cards. Yep that isn't something I am ready for.

Dairy Farm & Silly Faces

Today we were able to go on a field trip to a dairy farm for Easton's preschool. Gretchen thought she was pretty cool and I am pretty sure she thinks she is in school now just like Easton.
I learned a few things on this field trip.
1. I am glad that my parent's weren't dairy farmers. They both grew up on farms and decided that life wasn't for them I guess. I would have hated it.
2. I am glad I am human and not a cow. Those poor cows have babies once a year.
3. My kids aren't huge animal lovers when you are up close and personal with animals. I guess they are more like there mother and prefer them in cages and stuff.

Later in the day after we got back from the dairy farm Gretchen and Easton were making funny faces and asking me to take there pictures so here is what we got. I think someone needs to teach them some more exciting funny faces. My favorite is when I told Gretchen to make a funny face and she put her finger up her nose. We are crazy at our house.
