Sprinklers and the Pool

Today Easton and Gretchen invited over there friends Vance, and Breanna to play in the sprinklers.  Vance and Breanna brought there swimming pool.  I got a few pictures of them in the pool.

The kids had a good time.  They played in the pool and the water for hours.  You gotta love summer!

Rookie League

Easton wasn't old enough to play T-ball so we did the Rookie League.  Easton loved it but it was way lame.  Easton already knew everything they taught him.  This picture was his last day.  He can't wait until next year when he can have real games.   I am not a huge baseball fan in fact I have a small fear of bats.  I know it sounds weird but hey I sort of have an excuse I got hit in the head with a bat when I was 4 years old.  Apparently it scarred me a bit.  So this whole stage of life is a little frightening to me.  I like to watch him but I watch from afar.

Gretchen has a mind of her own.  She chose this outfit all on her own.  It was way hot and she picked cowboy boots.  I still thought it was cute!

Homecoming

This weekend we went to St. George for my Dad and Karen's homecoming.  Sadly I have no pictures of them.  I know awesome huh! 

We went to the St. George Temple Visitor Center.  This is Gretchen waiting.

After we went swimming because it was way to hot to be outside.

Chad was teaching Gretchen how to swim and she would put her head face down.  Gretchen is fearless in the water.  There was a big slide that she begged her dad to take her on a lot. 

We had a good weekend! It was good to see my dad and it will be nice to have him back closer to home.  Gretchen sort of forgot who he was since she was only 1 when he left. 

All Night Long!

Gretchen has been coming in my room in the night several times a night for a long time now.  On Tuesday morning she didn't.  When she woke up she came in and woke me up.  She was so excited.  She said, "mom i did so good I didn't come in your room in the night I stayed in bed all night long."  Then she left.  I got up a little while later and I assumed her and Easton were playing.  This is what I found.  He was still in bed when she went to play with him so she just got in bed with him and went back to sleep.  I thought it was so cute I had to take a picture.  Monday night they both had a way late night and I guess they were super exhausted.  So far so good she still has been sleeping in her own bed all night long. 

Hot Dogs and Sparklers

We have wanted to get a fire pit for a while.  We decided to get this portable one.  We used it for the first time last night.  We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows.  The kids loved it and I loved that i didn't have to cook dinner inside.

When it was time to go in our neighbors started doing fireworks and Easton and Gretchen didn't want to leave.

It was sort of a strange 4th of July weekend.  It was extended over a lot of days and it didn't seem normal.  I do love this Country! I love the fireworks and all the fun activities that go along with it. 

Toy Story 3

Toy Story is pretty huge at our house.  I think I may have been more excited then my kids to see this new movie.  I loved watching both of my kids faces during it.  I asked Easton what his favorite part was and he said the whole movie.  I thought it was pretty funny.  I think Disney did a great job.
